The Animated Series' Creator Has Seen Your Second Season Bingo Cards — With Some Good News

The highly-awaited Season 2 of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel debuts on Prime Video this week, and audience theories has been rampant.

The first season introduces a large cast of personalities living within Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds with songs about their clashes, and establishes tense rivalries and emotional bonds that fuel fan obsession.

The community's expectations for the new season vary widely, but certain threads emerge over and over: Could a fan-favorite character escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the binding agreement affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Naturally, I don't produce the show with fan service specifically in mind," the creator commented recently. "However I feel like me being a devotee of the series means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I hope some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator says her long-term vision is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by Prime Video and A24, which produce the series.

That could imply viewers have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs — but they could be shocked at how fast the new season progresses, and how much of what they're waiting for unfolds this season.

"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some really amazing reveals, some fascinating origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear much more singing from the previously silent cast members."

The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season — particularly in the form of fan bingo cards.

"I've come across a few fans create a bingo card about season 2," she mentions. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've actually done a few items, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on Prime Video on Oct. 29.
